Swim, cycle and run in the stunning surrounds of Lake Macquarie.
This welcoming, community-focused event is suitable for all levels, from juniors and first-timers through to experienced athletes. Competitors can look forward to calm, protected swim waters, a flat closed-road cycle course and a scenic lakeside run.

• Standard Triathlon & Aquabike • Sprint Triathlon • Super Sprint Triathlon (Australian Championships Event for Members but open to all) • Junior Triathlons • Aquathlon (Swim & Run) • Open Water Swim (1km or 2km)

WATER SAFETY
Athlete safety is our top priority at the Lake Macquarie Triathlon Festival.
The swim leg takes place in calm, protected waters, with comprehensive water safety measures in place throughout the event. Experienced Surf Life Saving personnel and trained water safety crews will be positioned on the water and along the course, supported by rescue craft and paddle boards monitoring swimmers at all times.
Conditions are assessed closely before race day and again on the morning of the event, and the swim will only proceed if conditions are deemed safe.
Whether it’s your first open water swim or one of many, you can feel confident knowing there will be plenty of experienced eyes on the water to support you from start to finish.
WHAT MAKES THIS EVENT SPECIAL?
The unique swim in beautiful Lake Mac, the race compound at Speers Point Park, the flat and wide bike course and then flat and scenic run course that traverses the Lake.
Don't forget, you can enter the triathlons in teams of 2 or 3 if you don't like all three swim, ride and run legs and want a run team challenge.
The 1km or 2km open water swims are also a fun event in the stunning lake with ample water safety crew to keep everyone safe.
