Course Information

The Winery Run course is very straightforward to follow and wonderfully scenic. With rolling vineyard views and the surrounding Hunter Valley countryside, it’s a stunning backdrop for a winter running festival!

All races follow an out-and-back course, with the Marathon completing four laps and the Half Marathon completing two laps.

The course starts on the Wandin Cricket Field, heading south to the bottom exit, where it joins the internal roadway before running north to the exit onto Talga Road.

Runners will travel out and back on the southern side of the road — please be aware that the opposite side will remain open to slow-moving local traffic via escort.

The course runs approximately 5.5km to a turn point, before returning to the oval to complete one loop (5km entrants will complete apporx half this distance).

The Kids Marathon will take place entirely on the oval and internal roads.

There will be a fantastic festival atmosphere at Wandin Estate, with stalls, entertainment, food and wine for you and your supporters to enjoy throughout the day.

Please note: The course is not flat, expect some hills, particularly in the early stages and on the return leg. The challenge adds to the excitement on race day! Course profile below.

There will be two aid stations along the course. You’ll pass them twice per lap, at approximately 2.5km and 5km, and again at 7.5km and 10.5km for those completing multiple laps.

Aid stations will provide water and electrolyte drinks. Please drink responsibly and dispose of cups in the bins provided past each station.
