EVENT SCHEDULE and CHANGES

THURSDAY 14 MAR- SUNDAY 17^th MAR 2024

The event is the inaugural Lake Macquarie Triathlon Festival for junior, serious, novice, recreational and corporate competitors. Activity includes:

1 – Thursday 14 Mar – 8am - 5pm - Speers Point Park Event/ Bike Compound set up begins

2 – Friday 15 Mar – 5pm – 7.30pm - Hunter Melanoma Night Fun Run – Fundraising Event

- Using Paths from Speers Pt Park to close to Warners Bay

3 – Saturday 16 Mar – 8.00am – 4.30pm - Speers Point Park Multi-Sport Expo and Briefing

9.00am – Aquathlon – Swimmers in Lake and Runners on paths

10.00am – Open water Swim – swimmers in Lake off Speers Point

4 – Sunday 17 Mar – 6.00am – 11.30am - Triathlon (swim, cycle, run)

The Swim leg will be in Lake Macquarie off the Jetty

The Cycle leg will be on The Esplanade (Park Rd to Lake St) - Road Closed

(The Esplanade south of Lake St near the Foreshore is open at all times).

The Run leg will be on paths on the Lake between Speer Point and Warners Bay

5 – Access and Parking to Speers Point Park will remain open at all times, however from 5am Sat 16 March to 2pm Sun 17 March access to the small lake side car park is closed for the event.

6 – Boat Activity around the Speers Point Jetty will be limited during the swim leg of the event.

7 – Detours East and West Bound around The Esplanade will be in place from Park Rd using Main Rd, to Speers St, to Thompson Rd, to Fairfax Rd and Ruswell Avenue to Medcalf St and King St.
