Valley just 100m from the race start. Come and have a great meal, some runner fellowship and also

hear from our local legend Scott Westcott, Rio Olympic Marathon Runner. 

Our official charity this year is Transplant Australia. Transplant Australia is a national charity representing transplant recipients, donor families, living donors and all those touched by organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

BIG BEACH CHALLENGE VENUE CHANGE DUE TO MASSIVE SURF - Sunday 22 Feb

After consultation with beach and surf experts regarding predicted massive swells on Sunday, we feel it is no longer safe to stage the event at Merewether Beach, as there is likely to be no available beach for us to run on. That is, the incoming tide surges will likely cover the whole sand platform from 9am - 1pm.

This year the event will NOT run onto the sea-wall of the Nobby;s Breakwall. This is the bit with ocean both sides. The 700m in distance will be regained by moving the main western turn point from Wharf Rd to the Honeysuckle Foreshore. Great spot to turn and a great spot for lunch afterwards. The 1/2 Marathon runner will go another 550m past this, on the start of their event.
