WINERY RUN EVENT – Sun-19 JULY 2026

TRAFFIC CHANGES – REMINDER

Dear Resident or Business

Annual Winery Running Festival - Wandin Estate

Half Road Closure westbound- Talga Rd - 6.30am - 12.30pm – Sun 19 July 2026

Road and traffic changes during the event

As in 2022-2025, Council has approved this health and fitness event which is planned to start and finish on the Wandin Estate cricket oval with parking and access to the property via Wilderness Rd. This year we have 1800+ runners over the 5 events, over 6 hours. Many will be staying in the area. To create a suitable (and certified marathon) length and weatherproof running course we will be using the southern, (west bound lane) of Talga Rd for runners to run west and then return east, remaining on this side, split by large traffic cones on the centre line. This means Talga Rd westbound lane will be closed from Wandin Estate Driveway until No 497 Talga Rd, to traffic from 6.30am to 12.30pm. This will be done by an experienced Traffic Control company. The eastbound lane will remain open with a reduced speed limit of 40km.  Residents on the northern side of Talga Rd can exit on the east bound lane. Residents on the southern side of Talga Rd will need to request a traffic control concierge to assist them cross the runners' lane. There may be short delays in providing this escort. Of course, emergency access will always be available during the event.

NOTE FOR EVENT DAY SUN 19 JULY: For south side residents who need to leave between 6.30am and 12.30pm please contact our TRAFFIC TEAM on 0402 003 355. You will need to cross a lane of runners, and we require this to be done safely. The traffic controller will attend your property promptly to manage your exit. We will have 2 escorts on call.

There are 5 separate start times for different distance events. Runners will run approx. 1km before they enter Talga Rd and will be spread out, running in single file:

1.     6.30am - Marathon – (42km, 4 X 10.5km laps) – approx. 150 runners

2.     7.30am - Half Marathon (21km, 2 X 10.5km laps) – approx. 500 runners

3.     9.30am – 10.5km – approx. 700 runners

4.     10.05am – 5km – approx. 250 runners

5.     10.30am – 2km event for Kids (held inside Wandin Property)

Prior to the event, I would appreciate if you could let us know if you have any concerns or special entry requirements by emailing me on paul@hevents.com.au or feel free to call or text me on 0409684246

We look forward to a successful, safe, event, showcasing Lovedale to the running community. If you are an accommodation or food venue, please let us know. We are happy to promote your Talga Rd, Lovedale venue in our marketing.
