HIT 106.9 STOCKTON SUNSET 7K

FRIDAY 11 MARCH 6.00PM

This very cool twilight fun run will be the first event of the weekend and is a great opportunity to test your 'lockdown' or pre event fitness. The event will start near the finish line and do a small lap of the park and then head west along the Foreshore Paths to a turn point approx. 2km further along. You will then run back past the event compound and head east to a turn point close at the break-wall car park. You will then return to the finish line. You will need to stay right on the path.

Registration starts at 4.00pm at the western end of Griffith Park with the event starting at 6pm. We will have a presentation on the stage at 7.00pm. Rotary will be on hand with some refreshment and food for sale, but if you are after something more substantial check out the General Washington Hotel, just 150m from the finish line.  Parking is available in the Ferry Station off Mitchell St, the boat ramp off Hunter St or around the streets of Stockton. Please be careful not to park in residents driveways!

EYELINE AQUATHLON

SATURDAY 12 MARCH 9.00AM

This event is an ideal tester for those who love to swim and run, but are not keen to hit the bike. The event is also a qualifying race for anyone keen to travel to the World Champs. The event will swim in one of the best working harbours in the world and run along a wonderful Harbour Foreshore. The swim details are below in the swim section and the run will use a 2.5km loop x 2 that heads East and turns just before the breakwall car park. Registration starts at 7am and the event starts at 9am from the small beach at the end of Punt Rd. Parking is available in the Ferry Station off Mitchell St, the boat ramp off Hunter St or around the streets of Stockton. Please be careful to not park in residents driveways!

SATURDAY WARM UP SWIM FOR TRIATHLETES
If you are in town on Saturday and are keen to check out the swim course or have a quick warm up, we will be allowing swimmers to enter the water straight after the Aquathlon swimmers. We will have water safety available for an additional 20 minutes. Please let us know if you are keen to swim at the registration desk. The Sprint and ParaTriathlon distance events will swim 750m, ride/handcycle 20km (4 X 5km laps) and run/race chair 5km (2 x 2.5km laps). Course videos for these events will be available in the next race update.

Please be respectful that residents are not far away and reduce doors slamming and chatter. You walk East along the Foreshore Path to get to the event compound.

FERRY from NEWCASTLE

SWIM COURSE UPDATE

The swim course starts and finishes at the small beach at the end of Punt Rd. The swims will all swim west and turn left , left and left back to the finish. The Standard Distance will have almost no tidal flow and all other 750m swims will swim out into a tide (but close to the shore) and return with the tide, which is going out. Stockton SLSC will be on hand to manage the event water safety. Access to the water will be via a small carpeted chute that will take you into deeper water. Please stay on the marked chute as there are some rocks either side.

Wet suits are optional if the water remain under 24 degrees celsius. Newcastle Harbour tends to be cooler than the ocean temperature.
