Event Information

Event Date:

Friday 2 FEB – Sun 4 FEB 2024

Location: Stockton Park (east of Ferry Station)

Crn Mitchell St and Wharf Crest, Stockton, NSW, Australia

Getting there and Parking

By Car

Stockton is just north of Newcastle, on the other side of the harbour. It’s not an island but has the touch and feel of an island location, but in reality, is just 700m from the 6 th largest city in Australia. When entering Stockton by car at the large roundabout north of the Stockton Bridge, there is only one road in and out, called Fullerton St. Friday and Saturday there are no road closures, however on Sunday from 5.00am you will be directed from Fullerton St to turn left into Booth St and right turn into Dunbar St. Follow Dunbar St for 1.5km and then turn left into King St and right into Mitchell St and then left into Hunter. There is parking available as directed beside the compound. On Sunday the parking will close at 6.15am and not reopen until the last person is finished on the bike course. This will be 10.30am. On Friday and Saturday there is parking next to the compound or general street parking. Please do not park in resident driveways.

By Ferry

There is a ferry station just near the event compound. These operates normally from Monday to Thursday from 5am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday from 5am to midnight, Sunday from 8.30am to 10pm, however note, we will be paying to have the Ferry start at 5am on Sunday for this event. You will need to pay to use the Ferry. This is a 6 min trip from the Newcastle side.

Accommodation

Stockton has a limited amount of tourist accommodation. The Stockton Caravan Park has various cabin, caravan and camp options. There are also some short stay home pub accommodations found on the web. If, however you are looking for some else, it is just a 6 min ferry ride across the harbour from Newcastle, which has multiple options. See https://www.visitnewcastle.com.au/visitor-information/visitor-information-centre for information and link for what to do and where to stay.
